Hibiscus Protein (Chicken, Beef, or Tofu) Marinade

Hibiscus is a tart, cranberry-like flavored herbal tea that contains Vitamin C and minerals. The Hibiscus sold by The Tea Experience is organic and originates from Egypt. An excellent ingredient for marinades!

Ingredients
0.5 oz Tea Experience Hibiscus Tea
1/4 cup
1/4 tbsp
To Taste
2 tbsp
2 tbsp
3 tbsp
¼ tsp Grapeseed or Canola Oil
Lemon Juice and 1 tbsp Lemon Zest
Salt and Pepper (or cayenne pepper)
Minced/grated garlic
Grated fresh ginger or 1 tbsp powered ginger
Finely chopped yellow onion
“Sweet” Paprika

Directions
Bring 4-5 cups of water to a simmer, and steep hibiscus tea for 3-5 minutes. In a small sauce pot on medium heat, reduce the tea by half for flavor concentration. Transfer to a large bowl to cool at room temperature. When tea has cool down, whisk in all ingredients. Marinate protein in a non-reactive bowl for 1-2 hours.
