Pelham, New York – Goldman Sachs’s One Million Black Women initiative has announced new investments, partnerships, and grants to help advance Black women and girls across the United States.  Leslie Allicks, the owner of The Tea Experience NY, has been accepted into the Spring 2023 Cohort at Goldman Sachs. Leslie’s participation in the program will help create economic opportunities within her community and beyond.

Launched in March 2021 with a ten-year, $10 billion commitment, including $100 million in philanthropic capital, the Goldman Sach’s One Million Black Women initiative aims to address the gender and racial biases that Black women have faced by investing in education, health care, affordable housing, small businesses, and workforce development.

Leslie learned about the program through an informational session hosted by Buy from a Black Woman.  Established in 2016, Buy from a Black Woman ensures Black Women have the tools and resources that will allow them to be successful. Through educational programs, an online directory, and funding, Buy from a Black Woman continues to grow as a trusted resource that helps Black Women in business.

About the One Million Black Women Initiative
In partnership with Black-women-led organizations, financial institutions and other partners, Goldman Sachs has committed $10 billion in direct investment capital and $100 million in philanthropic capital over the next decade to address the dual disproportionate gender and racial biases that Black women have faced for generations, which have only been exacerbated by the pandemic. The initiative, One Million Black Women, is named for and guided by the goal of impacting the lives of at least one million Black women by 2030.
